Knowing NOVA- 30 days of Awareness

Starting September 2, 2010 NOVA will be hosting a month of awarness for vascular anomalies.

We are asking every NOVA family to host one event in your local community that will rasie awarness for hemangioma, malformation and syndromes. This campaign is both a funrasing and educational opportunity.

If one family from every state hosted one event we would likely raise 50K. Imagine if it were international?

This money will help NOVA continue to support families world wide in vascular anomalies and for our 2011 NOVA family conference.

We have begun planning events.

On Spetember 8th in Greensboro NC NOVA will host a vascular anomaly meeting to present information on the specturm of vascular anomaly disease, where to find tretment, insurance and resource information. Watch here for more details.

On September 16-17 Milwaukee Children's Hospital is hosting PHACE Family Conference- details to follow.

Plan your event now:

In the past NOVA families have held raffels, benefit dinners, auctions and golf outings to benefit NOVA. You may want to host a small meeting in your area. We will help you get these things organized.

Can you tell us more about the meeting on September 8? Will there be the chance to have consultations with doctors? Who is speaking? Will there be a charge?

Jackie: The meeting we are planning in NC is not a conference as we have done in the past. It is more of an informal information session to expose individuals that are new to vascular anomalies to the information and resouces available to them. It will also be directed towards local assistance and information on services here in NC and SC however we will be able to answer questions about the many VAC's. We are in the planning stages of all of the September events, as more details come out we will let you know.

We will have one physician speaker and another speaker on the social services side of things. We will be charging a fee to cover lunch and coffee breaks. We will have the new book on Vascular Anomalies available for purchase as well. NO physician consultaitons will be offered.

There is a larger meeting in NY scheduled for October - this conference will actually provide you with the opportunity to meetin privately with different doctors. If you are looking for medical consultations I would direct you to that meeting. Email me if you wish to attend a larger meeting.
