At the 2007 NOVA Family Conference, Executive Director Karla Hall announced the commitment of NOVA to research and education related to PHACE.  NOVA is directing efforts towards PHACES because of the increase in diagnosis of this disorder.  Director Roy Clemens will serve as the board member in charge of directing this effort.

In September 2007 NOVA announced the formation of a PHACES committee to help direct the organization in efforts to support those affected by PHACES.  The new committed will help NOVA coordinate funding, research, education and family assistance. The committee led by Roy Clemens will consist of several PHACES families including Kim Cody, Jennifer Duncan, Wynid Littlefield, Jennifer Meints, Andrew & Janet Ziffer and NOVA family advocate Jodi Salley. 

The PHACES Committee is happy to launch the FACES of PHACES fundraising campaign to feature scheduled events around the world to benefit PHACES.  The first goal is to raise money for the FIRST ever PHACES conference planned for November 2008 to be hosted at Texas Children's Hospital.

Anyone interested in hosting a fundraising event can contact NOVA at admin@mail.novanews.org. The PHACES committee will support those interested in hosting an event by providing suggestions, guidelines and helpful hints for a successful fundraiser.
