Alexandra's hemangioma grew quickly after birth.  In addition to a large ulceration Alexandra was experiencing heart issues that were life threatening.  Despite medical management the hemangioma continued to grow.  Surgery was the best option to prevent the serious complications from getting worse.  Although medically she is doing very well today she has significant scaring and will likely need revision surgery.
